I am a very beginner for Java (I have only academic knowledge of Java). I don't have hands-on experience in Java.
I am undergoing training for Java Basics. Now that I am planning to do OCAJP8 ( 1Z0-808) where I have "OCA/OCP Java SE 7 Programmer I & II Study Guide by Kathy" for self preparation.
Advice me on below:
1. OCAJP JE 7 or OCAJP 8 ? Which is better to start with ?(as a beginner )
2. For both, to do the OCP (Whether OCPJP 7 or OCPJP 8) certification which book is best ?
3. I cannot afford Enthuware Test online. What is the best affordable online mock test for preparation ?
Also Let me know if there are any other useful advises to do OCA and OCP
Moving to OCPJP forum -- as this topic is not a wiki. And BTW, sorry for the very late move, and hence, very late possible responses to this. The issue was, of course, that this topic was buried in an area not normally designated for topics.
Since you have Kathy's OCA/OCP 7 book, you should take the OCA/OCP 7 and not 8. The topics are significantly different and a study guide targeting Java 7 won't prepare you for the Java 8 exam.
The enthuware exam is $10. I don't think you are going to find anything anywhere near that comprehensive for less than that. There are some free resources which you can see in the mock tests FAQ. Many of them target older versions of the exam. You said the Enthuware exams aren't affordable. What price point do you view as affordable?
