Hi,

What advantages does using Grails for a build system offer over Maven in a traditional Java (Spring/Hibernate) environment?

Thanks,
Paul

Grails integrates everything for you. As an old Java programmer use to have to setup an environment Grails makes things a lot easier for you. It has dependency management built in so you don't have configure many pieces. At the very least try a simple Grails tutorial and see the difference.

Happy Coding!

Grails isn't a build system -- it's a Groovy-based web application framework. Are you perhaps thinking of Gradle?

Thanks. I was actually thinking of Gradle instead of Grails.

I probably should try a tutorial on Grails just to check it out.
cheers.

Just googled and I am surprised Grails actually using Gant instead of Gradle.
But there is a plugin to use Gradle instead if wanted https://github.com/grails/grails-gradle-plugin
