Hi Dr. Cay Horstmann

I have noticed at Amazon that the time between publication date of Core Java 9th Edition and 10th Edition is 3 or 4 years,
Is this means that the Core Java 11th Edition will be released at 2020 which cover Java 9 ?? while the Java 9 will be released next year in 3-2017 as i heard.
why not the 11th Edition is released next year in 2017 after the release of java 9 few months ?

Cheers,

Whenever there is a new version of the JDK, I update the book. But sometimes it takes longer than I'd like. For example, now I still need to finish Volume II, but I am almost done.

As for Java 9, assuming that modules stay in so that't a big enough release, I will write a short "Java SE 9 for the Really Impatient" that should come out when the Java 9 feature set and beta code are stable. Then I'll work on the 11th edition.

So far, I've been able to keep up for twenty years, except once--there was no 6th edition Volume II because Java 5 came out before I got done updating for Java 1.4.

Cheers,

Cay
