Hi all,

As in the subject I am interested in how can attach a pdf document in a word document.
I have tried to play around Apache Poi but I found out that Apache Poi provide a support only for Microsoft Office file then it is no possible to do it with Apache Poi.

Any Idea?

Thanks in advance,
Angelo

Does Word even support this?

Yes I believe Word does support this through the embed object interface.

@Mimmo Ludovico
Word is part of the Office Suite so Apache POI does support Word documents?
Whether Apache POI supports embedding objects into documents is another question altogether - a search through the manuals for embedding objects may help. BTW what POI format of word document are you using hssf or xssf?

POI supports Word...well, maybe "supports" would be better.
The Word part of the project hasn't been developed for years now, and never left the sandbox (or whatever it's called).
It's possible that the embed stuff got in there before it went into hibernation, but I wouldn't place money on it.

I believe they call it the scratchpad.

BTW, did you guys know that the package names and interfaces indicate that the creators have worked a lot with Office? From https://poi.apache.org/apidocs/index.html :
- Dreadful Drawing Format
- Horrible Property Set Format
- Horrible Spreadsheet Format
- Horrible Slideshow Format
- Horrible Word Processor Format
- Horrible Diagram Format

And I couldn't agree more with them
