Hi,

Vintage Mainframer working with WebSphere, was wondering if anyone could help? I have a general understanding of single record and array reads but have started a project where I’ll be using VSAM files containing around 60 million records. In COBOL, I might use a Start command to position an index where I would begin a sequential read of a file – is there something like that I can use for my Websphere project?

Or maybe better way to ask would be: Could someone make a suggestion on how to read a very large (product id number and seq# as key) VSAM file with the product id as the input. One could assume the first seq# would be 0001.

Question too difficult for this forum: let's move you to the Websphere forum.

For anyone having similar issue, I have what I believe to be the solution:

zckarf.locate(rKey,#,#,ZFile.LOCATE_KEY_EQ);

# = key beginning and length
