Hi, so first off I just want to say that I really appreciate any input no matter how small it is. So my school runs on periods ABCDEF the order varies every day. What I want to do is I want to make it in or do we know system that can be implanted in one of the display cases and basically it will use an 8x8 dot matrix to show all periods and it will use an 8 x 8 dotmatrix display to show the current period. Also I want to use a Clock to show the switching of the periods as every single period Changes is at a specific time. Again thank you and any input.

Welcome to the Ranch

Please explain what you want to do. Do you want to show a light in row 1 for a session A and one in row 2 for a session B?
Which language so you think would be best? Do you want to use C/C++? Do you know how to translate the output into different lights shining?

We have an Arduino forum, so I shall duplicate this discussion there.

What i would like to do is use 6 8x8 matrix displays to display the order of the periods in a given day. The order could be any combination of ABCDEFG dropping one everyday. Also as I am using the arduino IDE, I plan on using C++. Thanks for your help.

What have you figured-out so far?

Have you made any decisions on the hardware side?

Are you going  to use something like a MAX7219 to drive the matrix display?

Exactly, I have already been able to successfully use one so i have ordered 6 more. However I'm not sure if one arduino is enough to control 6 8x8 along with a clock.

See where your hand is? Not there. It's next to this tiny ad:
