I am reading book Data Structures and Algorithms in Java (2nd Edition) by Robert Lafore. However, I couldn't use the applets mentioned in the book... That applets cannot be displayed functionally in firefox (other browsers didn't work either.).. I was trying to convert those applets into applications... However, the source code is not writable..even if I change it in IntelliJ.  Is anyway I could use these old applets? So devastated...

Is the old appletviewer tool still around? If so, that should be able to run applets.

It's in the bin directory of my Java 8 SDK.

I'd still argue that learning to write Applets is a waste of time.
