Can any one explain how to get pom from a project.xml.Many projects are available but no contexctual pom for the same
Maven does require the pom for his working.
Or is there any way to fetch pom from the project.xml throgh maven

What do you mean by "get the POM from project.xml"? The project.xml file is the POM.

Hi

If so then

Having placed the project.xml in the root directory

and using the command

mvn compile

does not compile unless

Pom.xml file exists in place of project.xml

That is why i needed to know how to proceed in the absence of pom file

In other words how do i make maven use project.xml to work

Please specify what coomands to use relevent to project.xml file
Thanks

Just rename project.xml to pom.xml. They're the same depending on what version of Maven you're using. Maven 1 used project.xml, but you should use Maven 3 now (which uses pom.xml).

Tongue wrestling. It's not what you think. And here, take this tiny ad. You'll need it.
