A common hibernate exception: object references an unsaved transient instance - save the transient instance before flushing

--

When an object A has reference to another object B, if B is transient and unsaved, when A is saved it throws this hibernate exception.  Question is : does instance  A's other attributes get correctly saved except the B part ? or does nothing saved for this new A instance ?
