I am following this tutorial: https://javaee.github.io/tutorial/webapp003.html and ran into problems with this step: https://javaee.github.io/tutorial/webapp003.html#to-build-and-package-the-hello1-web-module-using-netbeans-ide

The error in the NetBeans IDE console is:
Failed to execute goal org.codehaus.cargo:cargo-maven2-plugin:1.4.4:redeploy (deploy)
on project hello1: Execution deploy of goal org.codehaus.cargo:cargo-maven2-plugin:1.4.4:redeploy
failed: Cannot create configuration.

There's no registered configuration for the parameters
(container [id = [glassfish5x], type = [installed]], configuration type [existing]).
Actually there are no valid types registered for this configuration.
Maybe you've made a mistake spelling it? -> [Help 1]

I think the error is related to a plugin in the parent pom.xml of this project in the JavaEE SDK 8 folder. I think the problem is with this section of the parent pom.xml located in glassfish5\java_ee_sdk-8\glassfish5\docs\javaee-tutorial\examples\pom.xml. The portion of the parent pom.xml throwing the error, I think, is as follows:

The example I am following is located here: C:\glassfish5\java_ee_sdk-8\glassfish5\docs\javaee-tutorial\examples\web\jsf\hello1

I have tried using Maven also to install this but I receive the same error as when using the Netbeans IDE.

Does anyone know where I went wrong?

Regards,

Kim Gordon

The simple solution appears to be to just comment out the <plugin></plugin> section for the "cargo-maven2-plugin" artifact. I do not know if this will break something else though... :/

Although, when I comment out the problem section as mentioned in my previous post, the WAR file is not deployed to the Glassfish server. :/ Looks like i need to use the commented out section but do not know how to. Can anyone help configure these pom.xml files?
