Weblogic Server shutting down automatically

Weblogic is shutting down automatically very often. In the error log "+ set +x" is getting printed. There is no message in the log , stating weblogic is stopped .. but when we look at the process running in unix machine using ps command java process is not running. this is happening very very often.. 4 times or 5 times in a day when the users are accessing ..

Any inputs on the same y this is happening..

this is quite urgent ....

Check out your web-application which you have hosted on weblogic,
check out on accessing which component it gets shut down!
From your explination it seems that somewhere your code is killing jvm(e.g System.exit(0)) instance of weblogic.

In addition to what Sachin has pointed out, there is one more common mistake in the unix weblogic startup script is thatdevelopers tend to run the script in the background and the server will be running only till you/developer keeps the unix/telnet session active. Once the sessio is inactive and timesout the weblogic server also goes down.

This is due to the java process is atarted in the same shell as the user shell.

Small correction : Generally the startup scripts are not configured to run in background and script runs in same/user (also called current) shell by default

Checkout the default timeout settings or standby rule for your WLS

If you are working in a Bourne Shell, then bourne shell passes interrupts (like Ctrl-C, terminal closed) to the child processes.

Try putting '-Xrs' option in your shell script that starts the Weblogic Server.

Check your wls and jrockit version, I've experienced similar problems when buggy code runs, and crashes the JVM. The newer JRockit is able to handle it gracefully, and just throw an exception.
