Prob with understanding Binary Search Algorith

Hi,
I cant understand the following statement:

int midIndex = (endIndex - startIndex / 2) + startIndex;

If:  endIndex = 10
    startIndex = 0
then midIndex = 10

which is not correct. Somebody please guide me.

I think that should probably be:

int midIndex = ((endIndex - startIndex) / 2) + startIndex;
