Hi all,

Does it make sense to take 1Z0-897 exam which is about Java EE 6 when Java EE 8 was already released and also when Java EE is not maintained by Oracle any more?

Thanks,
Lukas

Is JavaEE still in common use? If so, it makes sense to consider the certification. Find out how great the differences are between JavaEE 6 and JavaEE 8. The more the differences, the more sense it makes to sit the newer exam.

There is no (and there will not be) a newer exam.

Last I heard Oracle worked on generic Java EE 7 exam which includes all thingls like backend, or all things like front end. There will be no specific WS exam for newer JEE versions.

Thanks all for replies.

It's finally here 1Z0-900 - Java EE 7 Application Developer. As Mikalai said, its combination of all EE6 exams plus new EE 7 things like Batch API and Websockets.
