Hello everyone! I work full-time as a software developer (2 years experience) and gave the OCA 7 exam 8 days ago and passed with 85%. I had prepared for just 2 weeks before the exam using the K&B OCA/OCP 7 guide book and only did the two OCA practice exams given in that book.

I would appreciate if the experienced ranchers evaluated my OCA 7 performance .

Also need advice on whether I should schedule my OCP 7 exam 2 months from now or a bit later. I am definitely going to do more practice exams for the OCP rather than just sticking to the book.

Way to go Andy, have a cow and enjoy.

You should not take too much time before writing the Java 7 OCP exam as there are some exams retiring in the next few months as noted here.
That being said, the Java 7 exams are will still be around for about seven months and the OCP exam has more questions and is more difficult then the OCA exam.

When you get a few moments please add your self to the OCA Wall Of Fame (
Before too long I suggest that you look the the OCP Wall Of Fame ( to see what materials they used how others prepared for the exam.
This could save you some time, money and frustration.

The OCP is a lot harder than the OCA so I think it will take longer than two months.

However, you can reschedule the exam a few days before. So there is no harm in scheduling it two months out and rescheduling if you aren't ready.
Whatever. Here's a tiny ad:
