Making async as Sequential: what is the best practice to use await

Is not Asynchronous
Although await can make the code look like synchronous,

async getRecipeAndFood(foodId) {  const recipes = await recipeModel.fetchAll();  const food = await foodModel.fetch(foodId);  return {    food,    recipes: recipes.filter(recipe => recipe.foodId === foodId),  }; }
This code looks logically correct. However this  await recipeModel.fetchAll(); and await foodModel.fetch(foodId); is not depend each other  both can be called parallel . So when do we need to use await or how can we call both await recipeModel.fetchAll(); and await foodModel.fetch(foodId);

You await the promises after you've triggered them both:
// don't await food yet, first trigger fetching all recipes. const food = foodModel.fetch(foodId); // we can await this, because there's nothing else we can do at the same time. const allRecipes = await recipeModel.fetchAll(); return {  // await food here, after we've triggered fetching all recipes.  food: await food,  recipes: allRecipes.filter(recipe => recipe.foodId === foodId) }
