Hey guys,

So I have scheduled to take my cert next Friday and have already taken the first 5 Enthuware tests ( I'm planning to take the remaining ones as well).
These are my scores:

Test 1: 69%
Test 2: 74%
Test 3: 71%
Test 4: 83%
Test 5: 76%

I'm a first year college student who just took one semester of an introductory Java class so some of this stuff was new to me. Anyways, do you guys think I'm ready or should i reschedule my test?

Thanks!

There are plenty of people who have gotten in the 70s on the Enthuware tests and passed the real exam with 80s or more.
Most people think that the Enthuware tests are tougher then the real test.

(Your average score is 74.6%.)  Have your Study Guide mock exams averaged 80% or above?  To Pete's point, perhaps these (Study Guide mock exams) maybe closer to better indicators?

I haven't taken the Sybex Practice Tests yet. I'll probably take them in the upcoming days. Are Sybex tests easier than Enthuware? Just took Tests 6 and 7 from Enthuware and got 74 on both of them. Hopefully I will pass the real exam.

Many people would probably say that the tests questions provided by the OCA: Oracle Certified Associate Java SE 8 Programmer I Study Guide: Exam 1Z0-808 by Jeanne Boyarsky  and Scott Selikoff are about as hard as the Enthuware questions.
Possibly a bit harder as you don't know exactly how many correct answers there are for each question. It should also be noted that Jeanne Boyarsky does recommend that answer all of the practice questions including the end of chapter questions.
It's even okay if you do those quizzes multiple times.
However, you should not take the same Enthware quiz multiple times (provided you are doing the standard tests).

Well, your scores are certainly comparable to mine when I went for the OCAJP.

But beware: many people will tell you that the real exam is not as hard as Enthuware. Be that as it may, but at the exam I suffered from panic and some time troubles, which I did not experience at home. So, don't underestimate it!

And about Pete's remark of not too often repeating the practice tests: mixed feelings about that. Indeed, there is the danger of automating certain questions, true, but what I found very useful about it is training yourself to recognize all those horrible pitfalls (of which there seems to be an infinite amount), in which I often fell...

Most important: if you have made a serious preparation (and I certainly get that impression), you will certainly pass the exam. Good luck!

I really think that the concepts have to be clear, people have done practice tests alone for multiple times which increases their scores in the practice tests alot but in the real exam they have failed. The real reason behind this is people memorise those questions and their answers, the real exam may not have exactly same questions. So be prepared for it.

Good Luck
