Hi Ben, first of all welcome to the forum. Related to your book Learning Regular Expressions, what I'd like to ask you is as follows:

1. Which concept do you think is the fundamental in order to start building a strong undertanding about regexp when you're learning it from scratch?

2. It's well known that one of the main use cases where regexp are used consists in text input validation. According to that, in the book, do you make use of other scenearios, apart or including the one I've mentioned first, in order to put the concepts in context ?

3. In the book, examples are written using a generic approach or using any specific progarmming language(s) syntax for some of them ?

4. Do you explain good practices and give some tips for building more efficient expressions in the book?

That's all. Thanks in advance for your answers and for delivering this valuable material about an interesting and useful topic for programmers and even non-programmers

Best Regards
Esteban Suárez
