Hello Guys,

do these two statements below give the same result?

@ComponentScan(basePackages = {"comcodey.spring.controller","com.codey.spring.service"})

and

@ComponentScan("comcodey.spring.controller","com.codey.spring.service"})

are not using basePackages and using basePackages the same thing?

Thanks,
Ed

There are 2 ways to define attributes on an annotation: positional and by keyword. This is a case where the keyword attribute that was supplied is the same thing as supplying it as the first (and only) positional value.

If I recall correctly, you always have to use the attribute name unless it's called value, and you don't want to specify any other attributes.

In this case, the documentation says it all:

public abstract java.lang.String[] value

Alias for basePackages().
