Is Whizlabs Harder or Easier Than the Real Thing?

Howdy fellow Ranchers,

The consensus seems to be that Enthuware's practice tests are quite a bit harder than the actual OCAJP 8 exam. Can any one please speak about Whizlabs? Are the Whizlab exams harder or easier than the real thing, and by how much?

Thank you kindly!

Merilyn,
I just took their 25 question free sample. I'd say the difficulty is easier than Whizlabs and around that of the exam.

That said, harder exams help you understand the material better and get a better score on the real exam!

Hi Jeanne, thank you so much for your insight! I also bought your and Scott’s lovely book. Would you say the practice exams that are available at the end of your book are also about as hard as the real OCAJP? Or easier, or harder?

Thank you again,

Merilyn has

Harder. I'm a believer in harder exams get you ready!

Seriously, I'd rather you get a lower score on our mocks and learn from what you get wrong than to do better on our exams and risk failing the real exam.

Thank you again, Jeanne. The reason I ask is that everyone loves Enthuware, but the questions and explanations look like Jibberish to me. I’m all for harder practice tests, I just wanted to make sure Whizlabs and Sybex are sufficiently tough. At least when I use these resources, I can understand why I got a question wrong or right!

There's two types of tough.

1) Questions that ask multiple concepts or have more tricks than the exam. This is the kind of hard I favor.
2) Questions that ask out of scope concepts. I recently took the AWS cert. The mock exam I used asked concepts that were out of scope and way harder than those on the exam. That wasn't helpful. It was just a distraciton.
