Hi there,

I'm installing a grails application called openboxes on Tomcat 7 / Windows 10. There is an installation guide for Linux (https://openboxes.readthedocs.io/en/develop/installation/) where it says that the openboxes app needs a configuration file: /opt/tomcat/.grails/openboxes-config.properties

As I am using Tomcat 7 on Windows, my question is where should I put the openboxes-config.properties file in (which folder).

Attached is the folder structure of the Tomcat 7 installation on my Windows box.

Thanks for any help,

-Eduardo

¬°Welcome to the Ranch, Eduardo!

The Linux version of this system is expecting Tomcat to be installed in /opt. Actually, I usually install Tomcat in /usr/local myself. Tomcat doesn't care.

The same is true in Windows. If grails is expecting to find a config folder named ".grails" in Tomcat, then regardless of where Tomcat itself lives, the .grails folder would be inside the Tomcat folder.

Thanks, Tim! It worked!

Also, I've just discovered that paying some attention to the output of the Tomcat startup script in Windows (startup.bat) does pay off. In this output, one can see all the paths where Tomcat is searching for the configuration file.
