We running WAS in solaris.We want to increase the
perfomance.Can u help me in tuning the websphere 3.5 AE .I would like to know how to set
the java heap size on what basis.(like –Xmx513 –Xms128).Our configuration is
2GB Ram.Can you list it out which will increase the performance.If you help me means
it would be appreciated

Hi Vishwanathan,
We also have the same environment - WAS 3.5 on Solaris 2.7. There are lots of parameters to be considered for performance tuning - heap size, downstream queuing, vertical or horizontal cloning, etc. There is a very good document for performance tuning of WebSphere3.5 on IBM's web site. You can also use OptimizeIt - (trial version availabe for 14 days), its a good tool to find out bottlenecks in your application and increase performance as it provides three tools - Code Coverage, Profiler (that i really appreciate) and Thread Debugger.
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
