when i try to install a perfectly made .ear file from websphere admin console the application doesnt get installed and i get the following error
Like to the know the reason at the earliest
APPW0006E Error occurred during the saving action of the application wizard. Refer to the logs for more information.
APPW0004E Application install or modify bindings action for the chosen application failed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Error says to check the log files but the log files contain nothing....
But the application is appearing twice in the admin console....

pl check whether your folder installedApps under WAS_HOME..is it read only..?? by any chance.
which OS are you using?? The filesystem should have proper file permissions so that EARExpander can work suitably. also logs would also be generated in activity.log against the error number specified. that would also lead to some details.

I have it installing now (but not working, but thats a code problem). The permissions were set correctly, I was using Windows 2000, and there was nothing in the activity log. The problem seems to have been caused by incorrectly setting up Struts in the web.xml file.
Thanks,
Charles.

You may need to install e-fix PQ60657. I had a similar problem on WAS 4.0.3 on AIX and that helped.
See this url:

Good luck!
