I wonder which IDE you are using?

I used IntelliJ which I like very much, but I am reading the Pragmatic Programmer which recommends to limit oneself to one editor and know it well. Since I did my web design summer project on visual code, I started to use Java on visual code this morning. It was a real headache (am I supposed to have Java virtual environments?)

What are you using and what do you recommend?

For me, it was the other way around. I started off using VSC and after some months I tried Eclipse and IntelliJ. I found the latter to be more user friendly, but it comes all down to personal preference. The more I get to know IntelliJ, the more I like it.

My everyday IDE is Eclipse, but I use VSCode as well.  Have you installed the various extensions described in Java in Visual Studio Code?

I have Java Extension Pack (just checked).

The thing is that when I have a problem in configuration, it takes me way to long to understand and solve the issue.

One issue I have is that I had to install some older virtual environment (??don't know if it's the right term) for my summer job, which used an application that was based on an old JDK. Since then, I have a recurrent mistake that says that the path to the JDK is NOT a path (got it from `/usr/libexec/java_home -v` ). It's crazily irritating.

What do you think about having one editor?
