i am an absolute beginner and i am failing to access this /check-if-exists on the url, i am getting a 404 error.

@RequestMapping(
           value = "/check-if-exists",
           method = RequestMethod.GET,
           produces = "application/json",
           headers = "Accept=application/json")
   public @ResponseBody
   Integer processTeachers(HttpServletRequest request,@RequestParam("iDPassport") String iDPassport) {
 System.out.println("the id is "+iDPassport);

 Integer occurrances = sectionDService.getTeacherOccurencesById(iDPassport);

       return occurrances;
   }
