Today was OCP D-Day

Hi everyone,

After obtaining my OCA certificate in July, I set my next goal: the 1Z0-809 exam. And today was THE day. I am happy to say that I passed (with 80%).    

The exam is indeed quite tough. My main study resource was the study guide written by Jeanne and Scott (amazing book, by the way!). After a while I supplemented it with the Enthuware mock exams. My scores were fluctuating between 60 and 70%. So I wasn't feeling reassured. I scored 73% on the last day exam. I have to admit, I happy the exam is behind me now.  

I also want to give a massive shout-out to the staff members here (you know who you are   ) and all the other Ranchers who have been helping me out whenever I got stuck. Thanks so much guys.

Thanks a lot everyone for the kind words and the cows. It always feels great to get one. Your advice and examples have played a big role in me understanding certain concepts. I am very grateful for that.

I also want to say something to all the other Ranchers, who are (just as me) relatively inexperienced:

A lot of people make one or two posts, get their answer and then disappear. There is of course nothing wrong with that. But even when you don't have a lot of programming knowledge or experience, stick around. Try to help others. Even a tiny contribution is a contribution. I have learned a lot (and I still do) by thinking about how to explain a concept to someone else. The process of reflecting on this, trying to find clear and unambiguous wording has not only helped the other person (at least I hope it did    ) but it also helped me. Think about it, try it and most of all, don't be shy. No one will bite or judge you. After all, the Ranch is a great place to be!
