Hi Scott and Jeanne,

I would like to know if I could use the old OCAJP 8 book as a way to supplement with taking the new test and review new topics from the new OCPJP 11 book afterwards?

Also I would like for you to explain how the new OCPJP concepts in this book makes the new OCPJP 11 tests harder than the previous ones?

Thank you for your time.

:-)

Good question. The 1Z0-815 exam covers more material. In particular, it covers some topics that used to be on the OCP 8. It also covers some OCA 8 topics in more depth. Combined, this results in a good bit more difficultly.

I don't recommend taking the Java 11 cert with a Java 8 book. If you have the OCA 8 book in your possession, I would recommend taking the OCA 8 test.
