I am trying to connect the sql on my terminal to netbeansproject?

(Not sure what forum to put this in)
I have installed mariadb server and homebrewer via my terminal and now I am trying to connect the database to one of my netbeans projects.

Tell me more about what you mean by "connect the database to one of my netbeans projects."  Do you want to know how to access the DB from Java code?  Or does this have to do with the Windows -> Services pane in Netbeans?
