I am getting the message "undefined symbol IllegalArgumentException(String). Is IllegalArgumentException(String) a built-in class. Kindly guide me how to solve this problem?

No. The name of a class is simply a string of letters. If you've got ( or ) in there then it isn't the name of a class.

IllegalArgumentException is the name of a class. Where you got the rest of that message is anybody's guess.

But nobody would have to guess if you had posted any useful information. Would you like to try that?

I'm not sure if I approve of this interruption. But this tiny ad checks out:
