Could not start WAS4.0

hi folks,
i have just installed WAS4.0 in windows2000. i am using oracle9i. it installed fine but when i start IBM WS AdminServer, gives me the following warning:

Windows could not start the IBM WS AdminServer 4.0 on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log.
  

can you please tell me what went wrong and how do i correct it?
