I'm wondering if this is impossible, I'm honestly getting a migraine from all the google searching. I want to set a floating text above a TextField that only shows if upon button press it is empty it will show the text in red that the field is required or whatever text I set.

I tried using:

Then I would just set that label with a new text upon it being empty and it shows in red but it puts a large gap between each field and I already know my professor will say that is poor design and mark off on my project for it.

EDIT: What I'm looking for is similar to this site: https://itnext.io/how-to-build-a-floating-label-input-field-f9b21669fe2f

I went with another method of aligning the TextField and new Label on the same line which I know will impress my professor because he expects everyone to do an error dialog.

Is this issue resolved?  If so, press the checkmark button below the last post.

Yeah I don't see a checkmark button, I have only found Resolved at the top of the thread. I would hit the checkmark button on the post but I have not seen one since I joined.

Any luck with finding out why I don't see that checkmark button?

Yes, it's because you're a Greenhorn.  Sorry to confuse you.  I keep forgetting that not everyone can see that.

Gotcha, well if I keep going, I'm sure I'll get passed Greenhorn then see the checkmark button.
Thanks for all the help.
