Do we have any Red Hat Certified Architects (RHCA) in here?

Share your journey of getting RHCA! Was it worth it? Would you do something differently?

I have got RHCA early this year and i have to say it was one of the hardest things i have ever done.

I'm not very big on certifications myself. Most cert exams I've seen are more on memorization-and-regurgitation than in displaying actual competence. The RHCE, however, impressed me because they basically gave you cold iron and expected you to turn it into a production-ready server within a fixed time and that is precisely what I've done so many times on the job.

I'm sorry to say that someone I knew who was very accomplished as a full-time Solaris sysadmin got sent to that exam and he chickened out. Never could persuade him to reconsider.

I don't know specifics about the RHCA, but considering what an RHCE demands, I would not be in the least surprised to learn that it is equally formidable.

@Tim Holloway

I find all Red Hat examinations the best in the industry. Hands-on testing is the way to go - you are presented with list of tasks and you need to accomplish them within 3-4 hours (depending on the exam). All of this without internet connection of course.

By the way RHCE is pre-requisite to become RHCA. To get RHCA, you need to pass another five exams of your choice (for example Ansible, OpenShift, Linux security, Satellite, JBoss etc.)

It is not very well known outside of Linux ecosystem, but it is highly regarded among people who are familiar with Red Hat exams - that is why i was asking.
