Purpose

The (Senior) Data Warehouse Officer, (internally referred to as (Senior) Officer- IT Applications) will be responsible for designing, developing, optimising and maintaining EIB Group data warehouse extractions in line with industry best practices and latest banking regulation standards and actively work on the alignment of the platform with BCBS239 standards, with a special focus on risk management data and systems.
Operating Network

You will report to the Head of Data Warehouse & Reporting Unit, acting as the main point of contact in the unit for downstream risk applications and risk management users.

The position entails coaching and providing technical expertise and advice to project team members.
Role & responsibilities

• Ensure that the enterprise data warehouse is in line with the IT policies and define a unified approach for developing ETL data quality jobs within the enterprise data warehouse;
• Organise, structure and lead IT projects under own responsibility and ensure their delivery within the planned time, scope and budget by anticipating issues and taking mitigation actions;
• Write up the project documentation such as the project charter, functional design, test scripts, progress report, reviewing all technical deliverables to meet the objectives;
• Build and maintain ETL jobs according to best practices and establish metrics to monitor data extraction improvements;
• Apply technical knowledge and expertise to define, test, implement and maintain data extractions in line with requirements and in cooperation with other stakeholders;
• Provide timely support service to end-users, which includes issue resolution, root cause analysis, propose and develop improvements.

Qualifications

• University degree in Information Technology, Mathematics, Finance or related fields;  
• At least 5-years of relevant experience in the design, development, and maintenance of a data warehouse in a financial environment;
• Excellent knowledge of project management principles, methods and practices;  
• Strong technical knowledge of ETL tools (such as IBM Infosphere, Datastage, Talend, Informatica) and SAP Business Objects Suite or equivalent reporting tools;  
• Good knowledge of database management systems (Sybase ASE & IQ, Oracle);
• Very good communication skills along with stakeholders management experience;
• Proven experience implementing standards of banking risk regulation would be considered as an  advantage;
• Fluent verbal and written English language skills and a good command of French(*). Knowledge of another EU language would be an advantage.
