Hi,
I'm trying to lookup a datasource and obtain a connection to it.
1. A database SAMPLE is created in DB2
2. In WSAD Server Configuration, a datasource (jndi-name='jdbc/sample') has be created for the SAMPLE database.
3. In the Web Project deployment descriptor, I added a reference 'jdbc/DS' that corresponds to 'jdbc/sample'
4. The servlet code in web project is:
i. DataSource myDS =(DataSource)ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/jdbc/DS");
System.out.println("got datasource");
ii. // create a connection from the DataSource
connection = myDS.getConnection();
iii. // create a query from the connection
java.sql.Statement query = connection.createStatement();
When i run this servlet on the test server, I'm able to get the datasource (i) but when I try getting a connection (ii), it gives the following error.

I even tried providing username/password (credentials). But it didn't help.
Thanks

Is this Websphere Express?
Did you add a resource in the admin console?

No... this is not websphere express... I didnot add any resource in admin console. I'm using the Test Environment Server.
thanks,
