hi , could you please tell me how to write in java this task:

I have n elements, I need to distribute the elements in list with the size M.  M > n

for example:
element 1 =>  x  , times presence
element 2 =>  y  , times presence
.
element n =>  z  , times presence

x+y+...+ z = M

Have you got any idea how to divide that task into smaller parts? Have you any idea how you would do any of those parts? Are those M elements supposed to be scattered haphazardly throughout the List?

What do you mean by "times presence"?
