Is it possible to find the number of active Http sessions programmatically for WAS 3.5.3. Does JMX have any provision for this?

there was no JMX with WAS 3.5.x it comes with WAS 5
there were some WebSphere API's which let you probe in the JVM..thought this might give you some direction....

You can also do this in a non-app server specific way by implementing your own session listener. Search the JSP and servlet forums for details.
