SAS Data Source

I'm completely lost trying to set up a Data Source to access SAS. We have this working fine using the DriverManager, but we'd really like to use a data source. I can't seem to find any useful documentation on how to do this. I'm working in WSAD 5.1.1 with a 5.1 test server. I'm using the SAS driver com.sas.net.sharenet.ShareNetDriver.
The error I'm getting really doesn't tell me much. I've made several attempts but seem to get the same results no matter what I try. If anyone has done this or can point me to some helpful documentation on setting up user defined data sources (something not preconfigured in the drop down lists). I'd really appreciate it.
In particular, I'm not certain that I've configured the JDBC provider correctly. Should I leave the Implementation class as com.{???}ConnectionPoolDataSource or should I replace that with my "real" driver name. I've tried both and it doesn't seem to make any difference in the error. That disturbs me a bit.
Part of the stack trace for fun... (with I hope some bold highlights)

I can't beleive you just said that. Now I need to calm down with this tiny ad:
