Friendly active forum on Hadoop, Ambari, HDFS et cetera

My apologies in advance. I am not sure if this is the right place to ask! I am looking for a novice forum on the subject Hadoop. Might this site be the right place to ask some really probably stupid novice questions about Hadoop, Scala et cetera? Are there any other good novice places to start?

(The management has seen that I did SCJP, when it still was called Sun Certified, and found out Hadoop has something to do with Java. While for the rest we only have C# knowledge here. I did Java 15 years ago. Returning to the old nest.)

Thanks, because there are many forums that are not that frequently updated, and Stackoverflow is sometimes grumpy if you do not know the basics yet. I will post a question now in this forum, but I will make a new thread for it. May be remove this one?
