WAS 5.x on 2 CPUs and the Java 1.3 memory model

Do you know if the memory model problems that were corrected in the new Java language specifications used for J2SE 5.0 were also corrected by IBM in the JVMn of WAS, in older versions of WAS, such as 5.x, or if these memory model defects are also present in these IBM JVMs?
