Samba share for a resource reference

Can anyone tell me how to configure a Samba share on my websphere 5.1 application server as a resource reference?? Or maybe I should be doing something else??? I need to access some image files that are on a remote - secure (user Id and password required) linus box. I have the path and the security information but I'm not sure how to set up the resource if it's not a database that I need to access. We use JnDI for the datasource can't we use the same thing to access the file structure of the Samba Share then just pass it the path to the file to return the image without exposing the username and password???
