Welcome to JavaRanch.

What results did you get when you went to ibm.com and entered "download wsad" in the search box?

WSAD 5 is no longer supported by IBM. Instead, you can download RAD 6. (It's the next version of the same product. They just changed the name.)

IRAD 6? Why not just jump the shark and go with IBM's Rational Application Developer 7?

Here's a link for a trial version of IRAD 7. I think it's still available if you navigate through some of the links on the page:

IBM's Rational Application Developer 7 Download Trial Version

***By the way, this link seems to be no longer active. You'll have to dig through the IBM site now. *** -May 18th, 2008

I have a bunch of free WebSphere tutorials and J2EE tutorials on my website, and I have a few IRAD 7 tutorials that I've done that are going to be going up soon.

Happy WebSphere!

Good point Cameron.

Shriya : Before you choose a version, consider what version of J2EE you need.

WSAD 5 supports J2EE 1.2 and 1.3. RAD 6 supports J2EE 1.3 and 1.4. I'm not sure about RAD 7, but my guess is the same.
