What happened to Roel? Anyone know? Just recommended someone to come to the ranch because it was so good to me 8 or so years ago, and Roel in particular, and I saw he stopped posting not long after?

Shame, guy was a legend!

Roel who? I won't say the name Roel doesn't faintly ring a bell, but obviously not a recent one. And he may have been an author. Some authors come for a book promotion and hang around for a while, but they often lose interest eventually.

Think he was staff or a sheriff, mainly in the OCA forum, probably back around 2017 or so. Roel de Nijs according to my post history!

Anyway, nice to see this place is still doing well

Oh yeah. He was/is a Sheriff. Last checked in back last December.

Roel (pronounced 'rool') is a great fella. I met him once.

I agree it's a shame he's not around these days but that's how it goes, we participate and help out when we can and sometimes our life situation and/or interest level changes and we stop. Maybe he'll be back, or maybe he won't. Either way, Roel it you're reading this then know that you're missed.

This. Exactly this. This is what my therapist has been talking about. And now with a tiny ad:
