Hi, I'm trying to set up a datasource (not a datastore as I said in my previous post ) in tomcat 3.2, but don't know how to do it ! (I didn't find any information on the subject in the manual of Tomcat) Could someone please explain me how to do it (or point me to a site which explains it). FYI, the Database used is Sybase. I have seen things you people would not believe, attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion, c-beams sparkling in the dark near the Tennhauser Gate. All these moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain.
SORRY !!! I didn't mean a datastore BUT a DATASOURCE (sorry for the typo a datasource is a convenient way to connect to a database. With orion, you can configure one in the file datasource.xml Is it possible with Tomcat 3.2 ? Thanx in advance, Dasch PS: I don't think that question fits in the JDBC forum because it's a question about the config of Tomcat (not about JDBC)...
If not, then I found something in the DTD for web.xml in Tomcat 3.2 (web-app_2_2.dtd)
<!-- The web-app element is the root of the deployment descriptor for a web application --> <!ELEMENT web-app (icon?, display-name?, description?, distributable?, context-param*, servlet*, servlet-mapping*, session-config?, mime-mapping*, welcome-file-list?, error-page*, taglib*, resource-ref*, security-constraint*, login-config?, security-role*, env-entry*, ejb-ref*)>
Checking the resource-ref element...
<!-- The resource-ref element contains a declaration of a Web Application's reference to an external resource. --> <!ELEMENT resource-ref (description?, res-ref-name, res-type, res-auth)>
And back to the Tomcat 4.0 docs, it looks like you can match up the two versions.
