Configuration of Tomcat

Hi..
I used win2000 and installed tomcat 4.0.1,The problem is whenever i start win2000 it start tomcat automatically because of that i can run only servlet examples available in tomcat,but servlets which i created dose not run,i did setup java_home and classpath env. veriables, javac complies perfectlly but does not run from WIN-INF/classes directory when executing frm browser.I also try to setup calatina_home env. variable but doesn't work,I tried to stop tomcat already running from 'stop menu' from start-program-apache' menu but it didn't.
Anyone can help me.
