tomcat4.1 installation problem

I have installed tomcat 4.1
but the problem is when I type http://localhost:8080
it is showing error the web page is not available locally and it is giving two options connect,stay off line
if I press on stay off line it is not taking any action
when I select connect it is showing the index page
after this the problem is
whenever I try to execute any jsp for ex:guess number which is in examples
directory
it is giving two options
the web page is not available locally "stay offline" and "try again" when I select "try again" it is showing the error just the same as default error page of explorer when I select "stay off line" it is not giving any thing
what might be the problem ,
please help me
Im using IE5 with windows 2000 professional

I guess u r using a dial-up connection.
Try this: In IE, go to Tools/Internet Options/Connections.
Select "Never dial a connection" under dial-up & VPN settings.
