Exceptions in Tomcat startup

Hi i am recieving so many exceptions in startup of tomcat 5. after approx. 1 minutes the server starts up.

I have set the JAVA_HOME as well as CATALINA_HOME variable properly. can anybody tell how to remove these exceptions and thus have a speedy TOMCAT startup.

Is there something keeping you from connecting to MySql, such as a firewall?
Is MySql running?

I don't have any idea regarding MySql but yes i am behind a firewall.

Something, running under Tocmat, is trying to make a connection to a MySql database when Tomcat starts up.

If you're not the only developer working with installation, I would try to find out who has configured something to work with Mysql and Torque.

Start with a team meeting.
In it, do what I said earlier and find out why there is an application trying to connect to MySql when Tomcat Starts up. Then, you either remove the said application or configure it properly.

What's causing the exceptions is an app that needs to connect to a database at startup is unable to do so.

Actually i have been alloted this PC . Before this someone else was using. so i have no idea who put it there and why? Can you plz tell me the procedure to remove all those unnecessary exceptions?

You don't remove exceptions.
You fix whatever code is throwing them.

You have an app that needs to connect to a database in order to initialize itself but can't connect. Fix that and see if it stops throwing exceptions.

If it's just a PC that you're working on, back up everything and re-install Tomcat. If it's a server that other people are relying on then you need to find out why the app is there and what went wrong with it.

When you say "my whole team is using one userid", do you mean one userId for Javaranch?
