Some servers use the Apache Web Server as the front end and route all jsp/servlet requests to the Tomcat container, also some servers use Tomcat as a standalone web server as well as the Servlet container.
But if you choose the former route you will have to configure apache and tomcat to "talk" to each other.
Thanks for the reply, well, I have a application running in weblogic and I have configured this to be directly accessed in apache. So everything runs fine and the app is accessible with this URL. http://<someIP>/<someName>/welcome.jsp. If I just say http://<someIP> then it gives me the default apache page. I just want to change this default page.
