Hi Ray

Please make sure you have a web.xml file inside the war file. The war file should contain folders required for tomcat like WEB-INF, src, etc.. Hope this is useful.

Thanks

"chandu",

There aren't many rules that you need to worry about here on the Ranch, but one that we take very seriously regards the use of proper names. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and adjust your display name to match it.

In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.

Thanks!

This is more probably a Tomcat question rather than JSP
What version of Tomcat are you using?
You say it is not unpacking the WAR. Is the web application accessible?
Was there an existing web application there?

There are a couple of configuration settings on the host element in server.xml which might affect this.
autoDeploy, deployOnStartup, appbase, unpackWARs...
see all their details here:
http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.0-doc/config/host.html
http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.0-doc/config/host.html#Automatic%20Application%20Deployment
