Hi all,
I am getting the following error from my connection pool:
org.apache.tomcat.dbcp.dbcp.SQLNestedException: Cannot create JDBC driver of class '' for connect URL 'null'

I am using Spring MVC framework and tomcat connection to a MySQL 3.X DB.

I have checed several sites and tried things such as putting Jakarta Commons component in the Tomcat lib directory etc.

I have also read this post:

And my xml files are pretty much identical, there are one or two differences, but I wouldnt expect those to cause that error.

My JDBC driver is in the correct place, I know this as I am "upgrading" a non-DBCP tutorial to be connection pooled.

Anybody have any idea what this error maybe?
Should I have copied DBCP.jar, Collection.Jar and Pool.Jar to the tomcat (6)lib directory?
Should I set the datasource as autocommit=true? (I am not using JTA (thats the next step)).

Thanks
G

Well, I fixed it, turns out context.xml needs to be in a META-INF directory, go figure!

however these question stand:
Should I set the datasource as autocommit=true? (I am not using JTA (thats the next step)).

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks
G
