Hello I have just install Tomcat 6.0.14 on my pc Than I just download a "simple" program made in JSP - the one they have on their site, and when trying to run it by doing http://localhost:8080/sample/hello.jsp
Yep! the usually servelt does work! And so is the "start" page you get after the install But, the example JSP - not What can I do to fix it up please ?
This would seem to be a classpath issue. You're not including old versions of the jsp-api or servlet-api in the classpath (or WEB-INF/lib directory) are you?

Ok Like I have said I have install the one you have given me from the link, done every thing according to the book This is how my autoexe.bat looks a like
BTW When running it from Eclips I get the same error But, when doing some servlets like the ones Tomcat give on their example dir, it works So I really can't figure out what is wrong, so any JSP (even a simple hello world) doesn't work
I would also fire up the Tomcat manager application and make sure that you're using the version of Java that you think you are.
There is a ServerStatus link near the top right hand side of the manager app's front page. The status page will tell you what version of Java Tomcat is using.
Problem solver guys! It seem I had a thing in my path, where an older version of some api's like Servlet.api was casuing some mismatch! Now Every thing work very nice! Thank you guys
Sure man! What is more funny, that the only reason I had this problem was because in my university they told us to put those files in the JAVA dir - well I guess they didn't updated it like for years
