Hi, I am using JBoss 3.2 with eclipse (with myeclipse plugin). Time and again eclipse halts and asks to manually undeploy the app from JBoss. I have to stop JBoss to undeploy the app. I was wondering if there is a way to undeploy my app using JMX management console. thanks. - walk rustin
Yes you can undeploy your applications using jboss web console.
1) Open the web console of the jboss. http://localhost:8080/web-console/ 2) In the jboss management console navigate in to System --> JMX MBeans --> jboss.web.deployment
3) Then from the list, select the application you want to undeploy.
4) Now in the right window you can see the details of the application you have selected . You can also see the options for destroy,
stop ,start and create options. To undeploy you can select the destroy option
I deployed my application (a .war file) to JBoss by just copying the file through the file-sysytem into the foldar:
I got an error during startup that this application failed to deploy.
now I'd like to redeploy a newer version of this .war file. When I opened jmx web-console, as the instruction here guided,
I didn't see my application.
-. is it becuase it failed to deploy? In other application server such as Websphere and Weblogic I can see in console also the application that failed to be deployed too and by that manage them too.
-. how should I now switch the application? just override it in the same location in the filesystem?
For 5.1.0 version of AS, there's an admin console available at http://IP:port/admin-console. You will probably be able to see your application there. The easiest way to redeploy the failed application is to overwrite the one on the filesystem manually. I haven't used the admin-console yet for most of my work so i don't know if it's easier to do it through admin-console.
